New music?

We get asked from time to time what we think about the country music that is popular these days.  I’m a fan.  I’d say with this new wave of country I’m more of a fan of the genre than I have ever been.  Probably the biggest reason is that the sound seems to be pulling from other genres to create a unique sound.  Bro Country has it’s obvious detractors but I point to a group like Zac Brown Band.  Their new album Jekyll + Hyde is great.  He has a single that is making waves in the rock work and their latest on the country side seems right out of Motown.  Other newer artists I like are Old Dominion and Chris Stapleton.  Old Dominion is a group of Nashville song writers that are doing their own thing and Stapleton is an accomplished song writer as well.  Country is a bit all over the place…and I like it!
